Preaching in India, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, France, Zambia … Monday 30 June 2014
Thank you for your continued prayerful support for the work of Preaching around the world. Here are the items for prayer for the week ahead.
India: A third training of trainers’ seminar takes place in Kohima (Nagaland) this week, with participants expected from six states around the Northeast. Geoff New (facilitator) and Awon Shanglai (coordinator) are grateful to God that all necessary funds have been raised locally. Awon asks us ‘to pray for peace in the region, enabling participants to travel safely and then for these new trainers to nurture an effective movement in the region – and beyond.’
Nigeria: A Level 1 and 2 is being held this week in Uzii, Owerri. A team of local facilitators – Pandang Yamsat, Cyril Okorocha, Raphael Okafor, Paul Nwozuzu, Zion Ngoka and AC Chukwuocha – provide the training for 110 pastors from five different states. Emeka Egbo (country coordinator) asks us ‘to pray for wisdom and grace for those hosting the event and that the participants will encounter God through His Word as they study and learn how to preach it faithfully.’
Zimbabwe: On Saturday, the monthly Level 1, 2 and 3 is to be held in Harare. Eleven different churches are represented among the Level 1 participants. Pray for Gary Cross, Asafa Makana, Clarkson Chidemoro and John Bell as they facilitate the training. Pray for the three young men being prepared as facilitators so that the work can be expanded. Pray also for the preaching clubs which need encouragement to help them continue functioning.
France: From Friday to Sunday a Level 2 will commence in Saint Lunaire, Brittany. Five people are expected to attend the seminar to be facilitated by Mike McGowan (coordinator) and Nicolas Engel. Please pray for these pastors who serve in a country where there is little biblical preaching and even some fierce resistance to it.
Zambia: The fifth Saturday (out of nine) Level 1 training day takes place this week. It will be facilitated by Siseho Minyoi, Conrad Mbewe, Joseph Honto and Chipita Sibale. Please pray for the participants and praise God for their commitment to this series of one-day training seminars.
UK: Pray for Paul Windsor as he gathers with other members of Langham Partnership’s senior programme team to work through the development of an integrated five year strategic plan for this global ministry.
Thanks for your prayers!
