Preaching in Sweden, Kenya, Zimbabwe…5th May 2014

Dear Friends

Thank you for your faithful prayerful support to the work of Preaching. Here are the items for prayer for the week ahead.

Sweden: On Thursday and Friday Mark Meynell (regional coordinator) will be meeting with several Christian leaders. Mark asks us to pray for ‘wisdom, vision, and sensitivity in our planning’ as they discuss the possibility of Langham Preaching assisting with the commencement of a Swedish preaching movement.

Kenya: From Thursday to Saturday, seven local facilitators will meet in Nairobi for a time of Refresher Training with Emmanuel Oladipo (regional coordinator) and Peter Mutiso (country coordinator). Please pray for those attending the event – some of whom will travel over 300km.

Zimbabwe: Another round of the training begins this week with 80 participants in Harare. They meet on eight Saturdays spread over eight months. A new Level 1 will happen alongside a review of the foundational principles (Level 1b) as well as a Level 2/3. Gary Cross, Asafa Makan’a, Clarkson Chidimuro and John Bell (country coordinator) will do the training alongside trainee-facilitators, Naison Mangwende and Verengerai Mavesere. John asks us to pray that more pastors will attend alongside the many non-pastors who choose to come.

Bolivia: On Friday and Saturday a gathering of 10 Preachers Clubs will take place in Cochabamba. Eduardo Rojas (facilitator) and Igor Amestegui (regional coordinator) will facilitate the event with the purpose of helping the clubs to continue to develop their identities, share their experiences and to see their place in the wider work of Preaching. Eduardo asks us to pray for a ‘rich time of fellowship, friendship and a renewed commitment to the exposition of the Scriptures’.

Central America: This week Level 1s take place in Honduras and El Salvador. Over 65 participants are expected and Dionisio Orjuela (regional coordinator) will facilitate the training. Dionisio asks for ‘wisdom, strength and safety; for the financial provision needed for participants to attend and for their open heart to the teaching’.

Asia: Give thanks for the appointment of Paul Barker (CMS-Australia, already based in SE Asia) as the regional coordinator for Langham Preaching in all the countries of Asia, apart from India and China.

Thanks for your prayers!
